Intricate Crystals

I'm still alive! I haven't posted in awhile and I wanted to make sure I let you guys know that I am still here and I have been crazy busy. ( typical bad excuse? )  :P

I am more active with postings on Instagram and I would love if you followed me.   | trulyfocusedphotos

I went out yesterday and did some shooting after I ran across these gorgeous frozen leaves and I just had to upload them for y'all.

The intricate design on this last one just blows me away. God is amazing.

To my American followers, I hope you all had a good thanksgivings yesterday! :)

//October Beauty//

Macro raindrops, because it really is fall.

I shot into the sunlight and I loved how it lit up the frost glistening off of the leaves, and how the                                                    bokeh is so subtle and pretty.
                                                           Bokeh and Maple Leaves :)

Photography is not about the cameras, gadgets, gismos.
It's about the photographer.
A camera didn't take a great photo anymore than a typewriter writes a good novel.

Blessings and Summer

The Lord has blessed me again this year. I saved all summer for my first computer so I could edit my photos with Lightroom and advance my photography business more efficiently. Last night I bought a HP Envy Notebook, and I am now writing this post on it.  It's pretty amazing/weird using my own computer now that I've learned to do everything on a iPad.

I'm including a photo of my new computer ( look at the pretty bokeh! ) and a gorgeous view I came across on the weekend of Maffeo Sutton Park. How would y'all like it if I uploaded all the photos from Instagram onto here more often? :)  Leave me a comment if you'd like that.

Goodbye to August! Have a productive new week!

For the record, I'm a terrible blogger, I'd really appreciate some tips that'll keep you guys hooked here. haha

A Brothers Love

I love the innocence, mischievousness, and love all wrapped up in this photo.
I'm getting it framed for their mother as a gift. :)

What do you like about the photo?

Filly/ Spring 2015

Haven't posted for y'all in awhile so I'm going to try and be more consistent. Shorter posts more frequently, instead of longer posts with months in between. Keep me accountable maybe? ;)

I introduce Silver Sparkle, the new baby colt that was recently born where I work.

Pretty adorable right? :)

Leave a comment if you wish, about something you love most about Spring!

Think Before You Click

The best moments aren't choreographed, so have your camera on hand at all times when you're out to ensure that you capture the moments that matter.

Clouds are your best friends, I've done a lot of outside shoots and overcast days offer the best lighting. This may be an opinion.

Try new angles! Don't be afraid to climb on tables, lay on the ground, doing weird stuff can offer amazing angles.

Ditch those cheesy editing sites for people who snapchat,(  sorry! :P ) Heavy vignettes, crazy frames and color, huge watermarks.....uh no thanks.

Take chances, be creative! You can always ditch the photos into the trash bin later.

A couple quick cheats for beginners:

Shutter Speed: At least 1/125 for moving objects

Aperture: Smaller # = less in focus
Larger # = more in focus

ISO = low as possible

Frame/Screen clear of distractions that would distract from your subject

No crazy limb chops ( still working on this ) :P

12 Reasons Why I Love Being A Photographer

Here are a couple 'why I love, what I do' reasons. :)

1. Photos never change. People do, photos don't.

2. Photography is the only language in all the world that everyone understands.

3. You get to travel, go to far away places and somehow come back and show the magnificant beauty stored away on just a memory stick.

4. You can make people happy with your photos.

5. Photos can display emotion that sometimes cannot be shown.

6. You see the light and world in a whole new way.
It wasn't until I started taking photos that I began to see details, and appreciate colors and light in a whole new way.

7. The camera helps me meet amazing people.

8. I get to inspire others.
I would not think of myself as a teacher, but when you have so much passion for something it just spills out, and actually may influence someone.

9. It has made me better AWAY from the camera. ( I'm sorry for all those awkward pictures I've taken of you ) #photographerproblems ;)

10. It gives me permission to go where others are not allowed, and to tell stories others might never see.
11. You can show what you love, what your heart loves, and who you really are without even talking.

12. I am so thankful for all of you, who view my images, ask questions and give your opinions. You don't know how much I appreciate it. :)
